Planet Fitness was the highest ranking health club making Entrepreneur’s 2022 Franchise 500 list, but 16 other brands joined the public company, including F45 Training, Crunch and Anytime Fitness.

Of the 500 franchises recognized, Planet Fitness ranked No. 7 overall and ranked No. 1 in the fitness category.

"We are honored to be recognized on Entrepreneur's Franchise 500 list as one of the top franchisors for the fourth consecutive year,” Planet Fitness CEO Chris Rondeau said in a media release. “This recognition demonstrates the strength of our brand, our continued growth, and our ability to democratize fitness with a differentiated model that makes fitness affordable and accessible to all. This recognition is truly a testament to our dedicated team members, passionate and resilient franchisees, and our shared mission of improving people's lives through health and wellness."

The next highest ranking fitness brand was F45 Training, which came in at No. 42 overall.

“It is an honor to be recognized in the 2022 Entrepreneur Franchise 500 ranking and an even more rewarding accomplishment to be the highest ranked boutique fitness brand on the list,” F45 Training President, CEO and Chairman Adam Gilchrist said in a media release. “I’m especially proud of all the hard work the F45 Training team has put in for our business and am continually grateful to the fiercely loyal community of F45 franchisees and members who helped us garner this achievement."
