Genesis Health Clubs Acquires Fifth Tulsa Club

Genesis Health Clubs has acquired RH91 in Tulsa Oklahoma, for an undisclosed sum, the company announced on June 9. The club, now known as Genesis Health Clubs – Riverside, is the 64th location for the company and the 19th tennis facility.

“We have the four best health and fitness facilities in Tulsa and now the best tennis facility as well,” Genesis Health Clubs Owner and President Rodney Steven II said. “Ever since we first came to Tulsa in 2016, we knew that RH91, or The Grand, as it was known at the time, was perfect for us. It’s a great facility with community and history, and it fits the Genesis model of having a world-class tennis facility in every city perfectly.”

Genesis owns the Riverside building, as it does most of its facilities, Steven said, adding that it lets the company go “all-in” with remodeling and improvements.

“Just like our tennis clubs in places like Overland Park, Wichita and Omaha, this will be something special,” Steven said.

The transition to Genesis allows former RH91 members immediate access to Genesis’ other four Tulsa-area facilities — South Tulsa, Midtown Tulsa, Broken Arrow, and Woodland Hills — at no extra charge, along with over 60 other locations across the nation. Memberships will continue seamlessly with no interruptions or price increases, and members will gain access to new amenities such as steam rooms, dry saunas, luxury locker rooms, Pilates studios, and more.

Hank Pellegrini, who sold the club to Genesis, said: “It’s important for us to pass this club along to someone who knows fitness and tennis, and understands how to run world-class facilities. We couldn’t be happier to pass the torch to Genesis Health Clubs.”

Genesis Health Clubs now operates 64 locations in Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri, Oklahoma, Florida, Iowa and Kentucky.
