Fitness Technology Summit Teams with IHRSA for Capitol Hill Fly-In

The Fitness Technology Summit and IHRSA are partnering for a fly-in to the U.S. Capitol with the goal of educating more legislators about the essential nature of health clubs and studios and the importance of passing the Personal Health Investment Today (PHIT) Act, according to Al Noshirvani, founder of the Fitness Technology Summit.

IHRSA hosted a similar fly-in on May 10.

This next fly-in will occur from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on Oct. 23 with a dinner the night before during which IHRSA executives will educate participants about talking points for their visits.

Transportation to the Capitol the morning of Oct. 23 will be provided.

Each executive will participate in two or more 15- to 30-minute meetings with legislators or a senior staff member.

C-suite executives who are interested in participating in the fly-in should complete a form, which can be found here, and organizers will select at least 50 people from the interested group to attend.

Participants are also encouraged to stay for the Fitness Technology Summit, which will occur Oct. 23-25 at the Westin Old Town Alexandria in Alexandria, Virginia. The Tech Summit is limited to 200 participants and is invitation-only. To see if you qualify to attend, email Noshirvani at [email protected] or complete this form.

The theme of this year’s Fitness Technology Sumit is “The convergence of healthcare and health club.” Sessions will focus on how the fitness industry can address all elements of this convergence, including club design and programming, marketing, legislation, integrated medicine and more. Sessions will also address the role fitness facilities can play in helping people with their mental health.

“The summit provides a unique platform for industry leaders, fitness enthusiasts, and technology innovators to converge, collaborate, and unlock the true potential of fitness technology,” Noshirvani told Club Industry. “By embracing and championing this convergence, we empower ourselves to leverage the power of data, artificial intelligence, wearables, and other cutting-edge advancements to revolutionize the fitness experience.”
