This compares to multipurpose club members who pay an average of $70.44 and fitness-only club members who pay $37.20.

In 2016, members from households with $100,000 in annual income paid an average of $65.92 in monthly membership fees, the report said, nearly $16 more than the overall average. Members from the lowest income group, $25,000, paid an average of $32.62 in monthly fees.
