Planet Fitness Promotes from Within for COO

Planet Fitness, Hampton, New Hampshire, has promoted Bill Bode to chief operations officer, the company announced on Dec. 16.  

Bode had been serving as senior vice president of franchise operations since joining the company in 2016. He will continue to lead the franchise operations team while overseeing the corporate club operations and vendor management departments. The role spans the company's global operations. He also will continue to serve on Planet Fitness' leadership team reporting directly to CEO Chris Rondeau.

Bode is a franchise industry veteran with more than 35 years of experience. Prior to joining Planet Fitness, Bode worked at Dunkin' Brands where he held various senior leadership positions, the last of which was regional vice president of Dunkin' Donuts Northeast where he was responsible for overseeing the operations of more than 2,600 restaurants. Throughout his tenure at Dunkin' Brands, Bode also held responsibility for U.S brand compliance and business development, store development, marketing and franchising.
