Peak Fitness to Hold Silent Auctions

CHARLOTTE, NC -- Peak Fitness is hosting silent auctions this month at 11 of its 15 locations.

The auctions will benefit North Carolina Action for Healthy Kids, an affiliate of the national non-profit company dedicated to addressing overweight youth by focusing on changes in schools.

The auctions will take place Oct. 19-26 at five Charlotte, NC, locations plus one in Durham, NC, and another in Fuquay-Varina, NC. The rest of the auctions will take place Oct. 20-27 at four additional locations in Charlotte.

The items featured at the auctions include autographed photos of Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods, along with other sports and Hollywood memorabilia.

“Peak Fitness has always provided an opportunity to be healthy and fit to adults,” Peak Fitness President Jeff Stec said in a statement. “Teaming up with Action for Healthy Kids gives a similar opportunity to the kids. We hope the money raised can help educate and allow kids to live a healthy lifestyle.”

Peak Fitness, which filed for bankruptcy in July, has one other location in Charlotte and three more in South Carolina. Several clubs in the Raleigh, NC, area closed as a result of the reorganization of the company.
