Man Dies in Apparent Drowning in New Jersey Town Pool

A 47-year-old man died from an apparent drowning in a New Jersey township pool on Tuesday.

Officers were called to the Cranford Pool and Fitness Center at 6:03 p.m. where staff members were attempting to revive the man, according to a report from NJ.com. A lifeguard was on duty. Members pulled the man from the pool after seeing he was in distress, according to the report.

Detective Sgt. Gerard Quinn said the incident is being treated as a medical emergency. The man's name was withheld pending notification of his family, according to the report.
