Life Time Shares Its 2021 Expansion Plans Starting with Arizona Resort Opening

Life Time, Chanhassen, Minnesota, plans to open at least seven locations in 2021, starting with the opening of its sixth athletic resort in Arizona, the company announced.

The brand opened Life Time Happy Valley-Peoria, a $50 million, three-story, 170,000-square-foot location in Peoria, Arizona, on Feb. 1.

Its most recent opening prior to the Peoria location was Life Time 23rd Street, which opened in December 2020 in New York City. The last time Life Time opened a location in Arizona was in March 2020 prior to the COVID-19 when the Life Time Biltmore opened in Phoenix.

In addition to Life Time Happy Valley-Peoria, Life Time’s new destinations in 2021 will be Life Time Battery Park (New York), Life Time NoHo (New York), Life Time Oakbrook (Illinois), Life Time Peabody (Massachusetts) and Life Time GreenStreet (Texas). Life Time Coral Gables (Florida), the company's largest project to date at 1.2 million square feet featuring Life Time Athletic, Live Time Work and Life Time Living residences, will open in late spring 2021.

The company also has at least four openings scheduled for 2022: two in New York City; one in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; and one in Chicago. Also in development but with no opening dates set yet are one more location in New York City; two in Texas: one in Portland, Oregon and one more in the Chicago area, according to the company’s website.

As with all of our clubs, we are committed to deliver nothing short of the best healthy way of life experiences and environments, programs and services, and content and media. We know how crucial proper exercise, strong immune systems and healthy people and communities are for our physical and mental health."

Life Time has implemented enhanced cleaning and safety protocols at its facilities after developing a 500-page playbook in partnership with a former state epidemiologist and industrial hygienist. 

Members of the new Arizona location have access to more than 1,000 live stream classes from across the nation, on-demand workouts, virtual one-on-one training, custom workouts designed by Life Time and curated healthy lifestyle content as well as access to Apple Fitness+.

Life Time Happy Valley features studios specially designed for group fitness, cycle, yoga, barre and Pilates programming; spaces for one-on-one and small group personal training; more than 400 pieces of cardiovascular and resistance training equipment; regulation basketball courts with Ultimate Hoops leagues and skills training; indoor and outdoor aquatic centers featuring leisure and lap pools, waterslides and poolside LifeCafe Bistro; dedicated Kids Academy; LifeCafe, a nutrition-focused, fast-casual restaurant featuring a full made-to-order menu, grab-and-go assortments, Peet's Coffee, proprietary nutritional supplements, and more; LifeSpa, a full-service salon and spa for featuring haircare, skincare, nailcare treatments and massage; and dressing rooms with whirlpools, cedarwood saunas, eucalyptus steam rooms and complimentary towel and locker service.

Life Time has more than 150 locations in 41 major markets across North America. The other Life Time locations in Arizona are Biltmore, North Scottsdale, Palm Valley, Gilbert and Tempe. It operates athletic resorts, owns and produces athletic events and is expanding its brand though Life Time Work coworking spaces and Life Time Living leased residences.
