LA Fitness Acquires Seattle's Vision Quest Sport and Fitness Clubs

LA Fitness is ending the calendar year with a bang in the form of another club acquisition.

Fresh off acquiring six Buffalo Athletic Clubs earlier this month, Fitness International LLC (the formal name for LA Fitness) announced today it has acquired all 10 Vision Quest Sport and Fitness clubs in the greater Seattle area.

Initially, the clubs will continue to be operated under the Vision Quest name, the Irvine, CA-based company said. All active memberships that Fitness International purchased from Vision Quest will continue to be honored under the terms of their current agreements, and acquired Vision Quest members will continue to have access to the same Vision Quest clubs they had prior to the transaction.

Fitness International also said it is meeting with all Vision Quest employees to discuss employment opportunities.

According to its website, Vision Quest clubs are located in Seattle (two), Tacoma, Auburn, Kent, Puyallup, Bothell, Edmonds, Everett and Kirkland in Washington state.

LA Fitness was the No. 1 club company on Club Industry's Top 100 Clubs list this year with an estimated $1.7 billion in 2012 revenue. The company had remained relatively quiet regarding acquisitions this year after acquiring several clubs in 2011 and 2012.
