Gunfire Erupts at Philly World Gym

PHILADELPHIA -- Two people were wounded after a shooting took place during a basketball game at a World Gym in Northeast Philadelphia.

The two victims, 26 and 24 years old, were in stable condition at a local hospital Tuesday night, hours after a brawl inside the World Gym led to the shooting. One of the victims was shot in the chest, and the other victim was shot in his stomach, according to multiple media reports.

Witnesses say one man went to his car to get his gun and fired shots upon his return to the gym. The shooting allegedly resulted after an argument over the scoring of the basketball game.

Some reports say that one man has been taken into custody, and a getaway car has been recovered.

About 50 people were inside the World Gym at the time of the shooting, police say. No other injuries were reported.
