Gold's Gym Seeking New Senior Vice President of Franchising

Gold's Gym Senior Vice President of Franchising Tim Hicks is no longer with the company, and the search is on for his replacement. Gold's Gym President Aaron Watkins made the organizational announcement via email on Sept. 23, according to the e-mail, which was obtained by Club Industry.

The announcement reads:

Tim Hicks, Senior Vice President of Franchising, is no longer with Gold's Gym.  We thank Tim for his service to Gold's Gym and wish him the best in his future endeavors.  

Franchising is a key part of our business and an important part of our growth strategy moving forward. We remain strongly committed to growing our franchise footprint around the world, and to that end, will begin looking for a replacement for this position immediately.

Gold's Gym did not respond to a request from Club Industry seeking more information about Hicks' departure.

Hicks was hired by Gold's Gym in October 2010. He was responsible for awarding Gold's Gym franchise opportunities, development and execution of a growth plan.

Prior to Gold's Gym, Hicks was the senior vice president of sales, marketing and new business development at Mystic Tan Inc. from 2008 to 2010, according to his LinkedIn profile. He was Capitol Entertainment Group's chief operating officer and managing partner from 2000 to 2008.
