Anytime Fitness Moving Its Headquarters in Minnesota

Anytime Fitness, Hastings, MN, will soon become Anytime Fitness, Woodbury, MN.

The company is moving its corporate headquarters in the greater Twin Cities area to Woodbury. The move, as first reported by multiple Minneapolis-St. Paul media outlets, will likely be completed in the summer or fall of 2015 after construction begins this spring.

Anytime Fitness, which recently was named the No. 1 franchise on Entrepreneur magazine's Franchise 500 list, paid $1.6 million for the 38-acre site in Woodbury. CEO and co-founder Chuck Runyon told local media as well as Club Industry in an email that he wants the new headquarters to offer "an indoor/outdoor experience for our employees and frequent visitors from around the world."

"We look forward to providing our guests with more hotel and restaurant options and specifically for our global visitors, more places to shop," Runyon added.

The new headquarters will house about 250 Anytime Fitness employees. BWBR of St. Paul will be the principal architect, and Coen and Partners of Minneapolis will assist with landscape architecture.

"Just as Anytime Fitness is redefining health and wellness for its members, partners and franchisees, the character and location of the site for this campus give Anytime Fitness the opportunity to redefine what it means to be a healthy workplace," Brian Buchholz, principal architect of BWBR, said in a statement.

Other club companies have either moved or expanded their headquarters. Planet Fitness completed its expansion of its headquarters by 10,000 square feet in Newington, NH. Last year, Gold's Gym International moved its headquarters from Irving, TX, to Dallas, and two years ago, LA Fitness moved its headquarters to a new building in Irvine, CA.
