Few things are better in your work life than being able to reward people with promotions for all their hard work. For the past six years, Stuart Goldman has been our managing editor, turning out some great news and feature stories (several award-winning ones, too). I have watched him grow in his knowledge of the fitness industry and in his skills related to websites, magazine production and digital products. So, I was elated to be able to promote Stuart to executive editor this month. With that new title comes a few new responsibilities. He will be taking some of the administrative tasks off my plate, but he will continue to do the stellar reporting that we have all come to expect from him. I hope you all join me in congratulating Stuart for his fine work and wishing him the best in his new role.
One of the other things that ranks right up there with giving someone a promotion is hiring a new employee. So, I am also pleased to announce that we have a new associate editor, Kelsey Cipolla. Kelsey interned with us two summers ago. I have worked with more than 12 interns during my career, and I would put Kelsey at the top of the list as far as her reporting and writing skills and her attitude. Kelsey comes to us with a journalism degree from the University of Kansas, Lawrence (my alma mater), so we can gang up on our Mizzou Tiger Stuart if we so choose. Look for Kelsey to start covering the university, military and nonprofit markets. If you have news in those markets, please feel free to email Kelsey at email@example.com.
