Super Bowl Fitness

The New Orleans Saints (UPDATE: defeated) the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday in Super Bowl XLIV (44, for the non-Roman numeral inclined). What could this possibly have to do with the fitness club industry?

Well, for starters, we know that Saints quarterback (UPDATE: and Super Bowl MVP) Drew Brees endorses TRX Suspension Training. After further investigation (all related to my daily work, of course), we know that at one time, Brees' wife, Brittany, endorsed Total Gym. Oddly enough, this spot was filmed in our sales manager's backyard. (Why haven't we been invited?)

After still further fact-finding, we find that Brittany Brees works out with the mother and a sister-in-law of Colts quarterback Peyton Manning at the same New Orleans health club.

Here's another note about Drew Brees and his contribution to fitness: He's thrown a pass to President Obama as part of an NFL Play 60 campaign commercial.

And finally, one more Super Bowl note, we learn that the hero of the Super Bowl two years ago, former New York Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress, says that he works out in prison, but that it's "not LA Fitness or Bally's."

I'm sure those two companies are glad to hear that endorsement.
