Behind the Scenes

An Historic Season for Coach Hammann

While chatting with Power Plate International CEO Gregg Hammann today about Star Trac's announcement that it has entered into an ABC, I got a couple of other bits of news.

First of all, Power Plate has hired Greg Sherman as CFO, a position he previously held at Star Trac. (The two companies are both located in Irvine, CA, making this an easy transition.) You might recall that Paul Ireland made a similar move from Star Trac to Power Plate earlier this year.

Here's the second news flash: Hammann, who coaches the Dyersville Beckman High School football team in Iowa, led his Blazers to a 9-3 season, finishing in the Class 2A state quarterfinals. Read more about Beckman's 34-21 quarterfinal loss to North Fayette, plus watch highlights of the game from a local sportscast. The Blazers, who had an eight-game winning streak, won two playoff games in a season for the first time, and this was their second-ever trip to the state quarterfinals.

Way to go, Coach Hammann!

P.S.: In this blog post and video of Hammann's son, wide receiver Derek Hammann, scoring a touchdown, there's a link to a Club Industry story as well as a link to this blog!
