Be Like the Chiefs: Come from Behind in the Fourth Quarter

October is the start of the fourth quarter, and for some of you, the “scoreboard” shows 2022 still behind in revenue compared to 2019, the competitor that every fitness brand is trying to beat.

As the chief executive at your club, studio or non-profit, you may feel mentally exhausted and uncertain about how to move your team over the goal post.

As a Kansas City Chiefs fan, I would tell you to be like Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and the rest of the NFL team in not giving up. You can come from behind and set yourselves up for success through the rest of the year and for the start of the new “game” in 2023.

And Club Industry can help you get there by sharing with you insights on Enhancing the Bottom Line: The Role of Technology, Operations and Compassionate Leadership, which is the theme of this year’s Club Industry Executive Summit. The event kicks off with a welcome reception on the evening of Oct. 17 at the Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel and continues with sessions all day on Oct. 18 and the morning of Oct. 19. Optional workshops occur the afternoon of Oct. 19. Register here.

At the event, you will mix with 150 other fitness industry leaders, networking and learning from each other on a variety of business topics, not the least of which is how to be that compassionate leader who can inspire your team to a winning season.

Donato Tramuto, founder of Health eVillages and advisor to Concierge Health, wrote the book “The Double Bottom Line: How Compassionate Leaders Captivate Hearts and Deliver Results,” and he will speak to that topic in his opening keynote address on the morning of Oct. 18. (And everyone in attendance will get a free copy of his book.)

Raj Sisodia, one of the founders of Conscious Capitalism Inc., will speak on “Healing Our World: How the Fitness Industry Can Lead the Way.” Sisodia co-authored “Conscious Capitalism: Liberating the Heroic Spirit of Business” with Whole Foods co-founder John Mackey. He also co-wrote “Firms of Endearment: How World Class Companies Profit from Passion and Purpose” along with several other business books.

These two presentations won’t be the only ones challenging your ideas. Rick Muhr, an ambassador for Matrix Fitness and a running coach, will speak to the Power of Positivity. As a survivor of an accident that left him with multiple injuries and a survivor of cancer, Muhr learned how the power of positivity can help to carry you through difficulties beyond your imagination, whether it be personal struggles or the business struggles many have faced in the past two years. You’ll be inspired by his story.

In addition, you’ll get to ask questions of speakers and panels on the following topics:

  • The Importance of Industry Alignment
  • Becoming a Holistic Wellness Resource: The Key to the Fitness Industry Welcoming in the 80 Percent
  • Raising Capital Post COVID-19
  • Changing Lanes: A Simple Way to Overcome Business Challenges and Accelerate Progress
