World Gym, the iconic brand for bodybuilding and serious fitness, announced its ongoing global expansion with franchises opening in new territories across multiple continents. Select cities in Egypt, Germany, Pakistan and Vietnam will welcome World Gym fitness centers for the first time over the next six to twelve months. Existing territories are also experiencing growth with over twenty new locations either opened this year or in development in Australia, Canada, Russia, Taiwan and the United States.

“We are tremendously pleased about our overall growth and being the first international fitness franchises to set up shop in Pakistan and Vietnam,” stated Joyce J. Cammilleri, Chair of World Gym International. “The World Gym brand continues to prove its appeal on a global level with each new market that we enter. Our development partners are doing a tremendous job finding the ideal franchisees who can deliver the high quality fitness experience that today’s savvy gym enthusiasts demand.”

Development Partner Jim Teatum led the project in Islamabad, Pakistan. This new location in the capital, which opened in July 2014, is the first international fitness franchise to open its doors in the country. Teatum is also acting advisor for the new facility being built in Egypt. Set in a city on the outskirts of Cairo called 6th of October City, the gym is scheduled to open in Summer 2015.

World Gym Duelken in Viersen, Germany is being converted under the guidance of Gentil Dossche, the Development Partner for Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Belgium. This conversion, which will be the first World Gym in Germany, will be completed sometime in Fall 2014.

Franchisees Tran Tien, Man Hung Nguyen, Henry and Stella Lam are constructing a brand new facility in Ho Chi Minh City in Saigon, Vietnam. With its planned opening for the end of 2014, their gym will be Vietnam’s first international fitness franchise. The Lams, who own and operate a World Gym location in Vineland, NJ, are also in the midst of building a new gym and converting two additional gyms on the East Coast under the World Gym banner by the end of the year.
