Survey Results on Trainer Compensation Shows Hourly Pay Has Decreased

Personal trainer pay has decreased by $3.50 per hour in the past two years, according to a survey of the fitness industry by IDEA Health and Fitness.

Personal trainers make an average of $30.50 per hour, according to the 2013 IDEA Fitness Industry Compensation Trends Report from IDEA Health and Fitness.

That rate is less than the $34 per hour reported in 2010 and the $34.75 reported in 2008 in IDEA's surveys from those years.
