Snap Fitness, Chanhassen, Minnesota, has signed a 30-club development deal for England, the company announced on Monday.
The development deal with MSG Life Ltd. is one of the largest deals in brand history, Snap Fitness told Club Industry. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed in the media release.
MSG Life Ltd. will open 30 Snap Fitness locations across England and will advance Snap Fitness' current plans in place with master development group TwentyTwoYards Ltd. The group plans on opening its first club in Bristol in May. Moonpal Grewal, Satman Grewal, and Pali Grewal are MSG Life Limited's primary owners. Moonpal Grewal is known for developing Domino’s Pizza in England as one of its largest franchisees.
Steele Smiley, chief development officer, Snap Fitness, said the agreement with MSG Life "puts the brand in a position to win" in Britain.
"With millions of prospective members in this area, this is a paramount move for our brand," Smiley said in a statement.
Snap Fitness has more than 2,000 clubs open or in development in 18 countries. In March, CEO Peter Taunton said the brand is seeking to expand in India by 300 clubs. Last year, Snap Fitness announced expansion through master franchise agreements in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and Georgia.
