YMCAs in New Jersey to Merge Next Year

The Somerset Hills YMCA and the Somerset Valley YMCA announced their merger earlier this year after several months of analysis and planning.

Two YMCAs in New Jersey announced a merger that will formally begin on Jan. 1.

The Somerset Hills YMCA and the Somerset Valley YMCA announced their merger earlier this year after several months of analysis and planning, according to a Y press release. In February 2014, the two Ys entered into an agreement to share management resources. Based on the success of that initial partnership, the boards of both Ys voted to work towards a permanent unification, according to the press release.<
