YMCA in California to Sell Branch Building

The Golden State YMCA, which includes facilities in Hanford and two other central California locations, has struggled financially for years, according to a report.

The Golden State YMCA is putting the Kings County (CA) YMCA building in Hanford, CA, up for sale.

The Y is asking for $880,000 for the 22,000-square-foot building that includes an indoor swimming pool, the Hanford Sentinel reported Monday.

Golden State YMCA interim CEO David Hembree said that the building has various maintenance needs.

"We are trying to deal with an aging facility and move forward with serving the community outside the facility," Hembree told
