Royal Caribbean Offers Largest Cruise Ship Fitness Center

SCHILLER PARK, IL – The ShipShape Fitness Center aboard Royal Caribbean International’s new Freedom of the Seas is the largest fitness facility ever to ride the high seas, according to the cruise line. And the facility is equipped with an array of Life Fitness equipment.

The vessel is the first with a full line of cable motion equipment, the first with Hammer Strength Motion Technology selectorized strength-training machines, the first to include a Pilates studio, the first to have a night club-style indoor cycling class and the first to offer a group treadmill class.

“Cruise ship guests expect nothing but the best, including a top-of-the-line fitness facility with the same premium equipment they use in their local health clubs and fitness centers,” said Jay Megna, executive vice president and general manager, commercial business unit, Life Fitness. “In addition, many passengers want to expand their horizons and try something new while on vacation. The broad range of Life Fitness equipment on Freedom of the Seas will meet the needs of everyone on board, from novice exercisers interested in trying out different kinds of fitness equipment to fitness enthusiasts looking to maintain their regimens and stay in shape while at sea.”
