January 2, 2018 – Technogym, the world’s leading producer of design and technology drive fitness equipment, announced the launch of the 2018 global ‘Let’s Move for a Better World’ campaign, the brand’s global initiative aimed at reducing obesity, promoting wellness and bringing local communities together.

Now in its fifth year, ‘Let’s Move for A Better World’ allows gym members to donate Technogym equipment to local facilities by logging their MOVEs, the brand’s unit for measuring movement, and tracking their workouts on the myWellness cloud, the industry’s first cloud-based open platform. The more physical activity that is recorded, the greater chance participants have to impact wellness enthusiasts in the surrounding area.

Similar to last year, club operators will be able to donate Technogym equipment thanks to an awards system that allows ever facility to earn donated equipment by meeting predetermined goals for physical activity.

“Over the past four years, the ‘Let’s Move for a Better World’ campaign has embodied Technogym’s core mission of improving wellness on a global scale,” said Nerio Alessandri, President and Founder of Technogym. “By providing the proper wellness education, we can bring more communities together through health and fitness, helping people around the world live happier and move active lifestyles in 2018.”

Over 142,000 participants in 782 clubs around the world participated in the 2017 ‘Let’s Move for a Better World’ campaign – quadrupling 2014 results – burning a total of 201 million calories and losing over 64,000lbs. Technogym has grand ambitions for ‘Let’s Move for a Better World’ 2018, following the success of the 2017 edition, which boasted impressive figures and quadrupled 2014 results: 782 Clubs, 142,000 participants in 26 countries completed more than 482 million MOVEs, burning a total of 201 million calories and losing a staggering 64,000 lbs/28.800 kg. The campaign is a powerful engagement tool to build member loyalty at participating facilities, allowing club owners to boost visits by 23% and increase new membership by 13%.
