Despite the government shutdown, the largest fitness facility in the U.S. Marine Corps opened on Oct. 11 at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, Jacksonville, NC.
The 104,000-square-foot Wallace Creek Fitness Center features a 50-foot climbing wall, an indoor pool, an artificial turf training area, a variety of strength and cardio equipment, and a clinic in which Navy corpsman will practice sports medicine and rehab therapy, according to the center's website.
