Life Time Fitness, Chanhassen, MN, announced last week it acquired ShapeMed, an Atlanta-based wellness clinic. Terms were not disclosed.
ShapeMed by Life Time is now open in the affluent Buckhead area of Atlanta within the Fountain Oaks Shopping Plaza. The company has plans to open ShapeMed by Life Time inside Life Time Athletic Atlanta and Life Time Fitness Alpharetta, according to a press release. ShapeMed by Life Time also will host a variety of events in the other three Atlanta-area Life Time clubs.
In addition to current offerings at LifeSpa, members and nonmembers will now have the following services available: injectables and fillers, microdermabrasion and dermablading, chemical peels, photo rejuvenation, skin tightening, laser 360, acne laser treatment, age and brown spot removal, body contouring and skin tightening, fractional resurfacing, laser hair removal, tattoo removal and laser vein therapy. ShapeMed by Life Time is led by S. Mark McKenna.
"ShapeMed brings new service offerings and shares a commitment to providing clients with best in class, healthy, long-term weight loss and wellness solutions that meet the unique needs of each individual," Tami Kozikowski, executive vice president of LifeSpa and chief administrative officer at Life Time Fitness, said in a statement.
This is not the first time Life Time has made an acquisition in the Atlanta area. In 2012, it acquired Atlanta's Racquet Club of the South, which was rebranded as Life Time Athletic Atlanta.
