It may not be a surprise that health club members pay more on average for studios than any other type of facility. According to the IHRSA 2017 Health Club Consumer Report, studio members currently pay between $76.41 and $118.13 per month. This compares to multipurpose club members who pay an average of $70.44 and fitness-only club members who pay $37.20. 

In 2016, members from households with $100,000 in annual income paid an average of $65.92 in monthly membership fees, the report said, nearly $16 more than the overall average. Members from the lowest income group, $25,000, paid an average of $32.62 in monthly fees.
