A singer from the British version of the reality TV show "The X Factor" is suing Equinox and her former supervisor at the club on the grounds of sexual harassment, the Los Angeles Daily News reported.
The lawsuit was filed last week on behalf of Katie Waissel in Los Angeles Superior Court against Equinox Fitness Woodland Hills Inc. and Matt Lee, according to the Daily News. The suit also alleges gender discrimination, retaliation and failure to pay overtime wages, the newspaper reported.
Waissel responded to an ad for a spa manager at the Equinox club in Woodland Hills, CA, and later was hired by Lee. From the Daily News:
Waissel eventually concluded that Lee was "a sexual predator of not just her, but countless other women" and was "actively involved in online trolling for sexual escapades," the suit alleges.
Waissel, formerly known as Katie Vogel, claims she was rebuffed after complaining to the company's human resources department and was forced to resign, the Daily News reported.
A spokesperson for Equinox, New York, declined to comment about the lawsuit to Club Industry.
