Studio Operators: These Four Sessions Are Just for You

The growth of the studio market means a growing number of people in the fitness industry have concerns specific to operating a successful studio. Whether your studio is independent or part of a franchise, we have four sessions at this year's Club Industry Show Oct. 12-14 that address your concerns. The sessions are being put on by Club Industry's partner, the Association of Fitness Studios (AFS).

On Oct. 13, the two sessions are:

State of the Fitness Studio Industry, 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 13 presented by Josh Leve, co-founder and president of AFS. This session will share why personalization is the key to success, what's working and what's not, and trends that demand your attention.

How Pricing and Programming Define Your Brand, 10:15 a.m. on Oct. 13, presented by Dr. Kevin Steele, principal at Communications Consultants. In this session, you will learn about creating power through your brand's marketing, how to program to create a better customer experience and how to find disciples for your corporate culture.

On Oct. 14, the two sessions are:

The Latest Studio Research and How to Apply It, 8 a.m. on Oct. 14, presented by Stephen Tharrett, president of Club Industry Consulting and co-founder of ClubIntel. Tharrett will show you how to do a revenue and expense analysis to show you why you may not be making the revenue you would like. He will also share who is doing what and how much they are charging.

Using Core Competencies to Create Systems that Grow Your Boutique Fitness Organization, 9:15 a.m. on Oct. 14, presented by Elisabeth Kristof, co-owner and co-director of RedBird Pilates & Fitness, and Lee Vallely, found and CEO of RedBird Fitness LLC. The presenter will share methodologies to define your brand voice, how to identify key success factors and the foundations of all business systems.

In addition, we invite you to check out Club Industry's Franchise Wise column, which is written by Matthew Cicci about the process of opening his boutique franchised studio. Cicci shares the ups and downs of opening a boutique studio as part of a franchise. Cicci also will present at this year's show on "The Impact and Diversification of the Boutique Fitness Market" at 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 13. In this session, Cicci will examine how the fitness landscape has been changed by the growth of boutique studios.
