A Bally Total Fitness club in Jersey City, NJ, was one of five health clubs in New Jersey that were fined by the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs for various reasons, including failure to register with the state.

A Bally Total Fitness club in Jersey City, NJ, was fined $10,500 by the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs for failing to provide refunds for canceled memberships as well as failing to register with the state.

In Monday's announcement, the division also fined Hillsborough (NJ) Racquet and Fitness $5,500 for the same offenses. A total of $31,000 in civil penalties was assessed against five health clubs in New Jersey on Monday.
