Anytime Fitness, the world’s fastest-growing fitness club chain, has surpassed another historic milestone:  the company’s 2,000,000th member.

“Of course, we’re very proud to have reached the 2,000,000 member mark in just twelve years since opening our first club,” said Chuck Runyon, CEO and co-founder of Anytime Fitness.  “But our focus has always been on serving one member at a time.  The numbers are meaningless if you’re not actually helping people improve their fitness levels and get more out of life.”

Approximately 50,000,000 Americans belong to health clubs.  That means roughly one out of every 25 health club members in the U.S. belongs to an Anytime Fitness club.

“Helping people overcome obstacles to healthier lives is what we’re all about,” said Dave Mortensen, President and co-founder of Anytime Fitness. “We do that not merely by providing our members with convenient gyms, the latest equipment and training, but more importantly by providing a supportive community that inspires people to do things they never thought possible.”

Anytime Fitness, which has more than 2,400 clubs open in nearly 20 countries worldwide, was recently named “One of America’s Most Promising Companies” by Forbes and ranked #1 on Entrepreneur magazine’s prestigious Franchise 500® list:

Not only has Anytime Fitness been adding new clubs at an industry-leading rate of 300 clubs per year over the last seven years, during that same time period, individual gyms open at least one year have increased their average club memberships from 625 to 825 members.
