American Council on Exercise Hosts 2013 ACE Symposium East in Orlando

For the first time in seven years, American Council on Exercise (ACE) is bringing its annual educational event to the East Coast. The ACE Symposium East will be held Oct. 17-19, at the Renaissance Hotel at SeaWorld in Orlando.

Health and fitness professionals from across the country will learn from industry-leading experts and explore all of the latest products and research during the three-day symposium. Biomechanics, mind body fitness, barefoot movement, size sensitivity training, equipment, business, nutrition, group fitness, behavior change and a host of other topics will be addressed through dozens of educational presentations and seminars.

Symposium highlights will include opening keynote speaker Bryan Clay, a long-time Olympic athlete who earned a Gold Medal in the Decathlon at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. In his address, "Beyond the Gold," Clay will talk about the Five Pillars of Wellness and how they impact performance, as well as balancing the demands of a healthy, active lifestyle. He will speak on Thursday, Oct. 17, at 8 a.m.

Physical activity expert Wojtek J. Chodzko-Zajko, PhD, the symposium's closing keynote speaker, will present on the very timely topic of"Fit After 50: Helping Older Adults Age Successfully," on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 8 a.m.Chodzko-Zajkois editor of the Journal of Aging and Physical Activity and president of the International Society on Aging and Physical Activity. He will provideattendees insights on ways to motivate, inform and empower older clients.

Individuals who attend ACE East can earn up to 2.0 continuing education credits while participating in hands-on, interactive sessions on the hottest topics in personal training, group fitness and health coaching. There will also be multiple networking events, an extensive exhibitor showroom, and special training sessions.
